I think it’s the best music for schools out there. You fit into the void that Nestico left when many of his younger titles went out of print.

My students love playing Paul's music. It makes classic jazz forms accessible in the 21st century. His arrangements are scored to sound more challenging than they really are which gives the students the gratification of outstanding performances.

“Riggs!”, written by Paul Baker is a fantastic Basie style chart that grooves well, lays on the horns, and sounds great from the first read. Our student musicians enjoyed playing this composition and really had a blast soloing over the changes at The Midwest Clinic this past December.
