Based on the chord changes for the Gershwin standard “Summertime”, this nifty swinger combines the hallmarks of other tunes such as Cantaloupe Island and the Theme from Get Smart tv show to create a hard swinging chart that’s fun for everyone. The melody is carried by the trumpets and alto saxes while the lower voices provide rhythmic support. Written solos for trumpet and alto sax are provided along with the chord changes. A rousing shout chorus builds to the finish. Trumpet range is to written G on top of the staff.
