An colorful and easy paced straight 8th tone-poem-like chart based on the chord changes of the standard There Will Never Be Another You. A beautiful alto sax melody sets the tone early amidst lush backgrounds and harmonies. The melody then moves to the trombones and brass section to build the melodic and dynamic energy. A brief sax soli acts as an interlude into the trumpet (or flugel) solo. The piano (or guitar) takes the second solo which leads into a rich, almost symphonic, development section. Emerging from the fray, a majestic lead trumpet soars above the ensemble before rejoining the ensemble for the final push to the finish. This chart will require a stout brass section. Trumpet range to writen high C. Trombone to Ab.

A dramatic and modern Thad Jones style take on an extended blues form makes for a challenging chart for everyone. Beginning with the opening glissando and punch, this chart announces itself in style. Muted trumpets take the melody and then hand it off to the saxes. A harmon mute trumpet solo leads to a trombone section soli (including the bass player). An interlude sets up the piano solo which is followed by a tenor sax solo. A recap of the bridge and melody leads to a recap of the intro before the ensemble builds to the final statement. A true tour de force that will showcase dynamics, style, technique, and musicianship.Trumpet to written Bb.

Movin' Easy swings hard, beginning with the piano stating the entire melody, and offering a chance to show off the rhythm section on its own before the ensemble kicks in. Tenor sax and trumpet solos are provided and are based on the chord changes of Duke Ellington's classic "Don't Get Around Much Anymore". A 16 bar acapella ensemble section shows off the horns before the rhythm rejoins at the bridge to close out the chart - almost. Mr. Moto harkens back to the swinging Big Band Era featuring a Basie-ish piano melody. The brass take over for the bridge and the saxes finish out the first chorus. Clever key changes enhance the flavor of each section. Solo changes are provided for trombone and tenor sax. As in the Old Days, the chart starts its shout chorus softly with a sax section riff that is answered and built upon in the brass. The ensemble builds for one final key change as the lead trumpet brings us home with a high note (written A and B above the staff) feature. Trumpet range is to written high C, trombone range is to F.

Funky! Funky! Funky! This chart lights up every band that plays it. Mix some Tower of Power with some 70s Brecker Brothers and stand back. The written bass part nods to Rocco Prestia while the drums lean into Dave Garibaldi territory. Add Steve "Doc" Kupka's bari and you have a foundation for some serious fun. There is ample space for numerous soloists with an optional open section as well as within the form of the tune. An eight bar drum solo (also could be opened up) leads into a funky 16 bar breakdown/fugue section which opens the shout chorus and punctuated finale. Trumpet range is to written high C, trombone to G.
